Hi Alex - You don't have to worry about this thing. It is only our president who does not acknowledge this. According to our constitution, the Parliament will have reconsider the vetoed bill. They won't take too much time with it: the Parliament will vote again on the 3rd of November and wants the agreement in effect by 17th November latest. I think the motion will get an all-party support.

Szia Daniel,

I am part of that Hungarian diaspora in the US of A. For the record, while I was born in the States, I hold dual citizenship.

What the Hungarians in Hungary don't either realize or don't want to admit to is that there is a very good reason why there are visa requirements for Hungarians visiting the US of A. Essentially, Hungarians overstay their visas and end up becoming immigrants, rather than just tourists. That's it, There is no conspiracy against the Hungarians. The Hungarians who just want to visit the USA should be angry at their brethren who have successfully but illegally immigrated to the States.

Last thing, this is also the very reason that the Hungarians didn't want to grant Hungarian citizenship to the Hungarian Transylvanians. Which makes no sense b/c those Transylvanians are Hungarians.

Not much. We are used to our president's ways. The V4 presidents make such a great group. Mr Klaus was a bit similar when he went to the UN Climate summit to say that he thinks that Greenland should be green again and the greens are insight red so beware of the Communist conspiracy. Than you have the Kaczynksi president and Gasparovic...

:)))) Sorry, this was my one possible reaction to this news. A refusal of the US visa waiver programme from the president of a Central European state! Genuinely crazy. What does your media say about this?
