A one minute speach from MEP Daniel Hannan in the Parliament. While the harm made to African producers is in the one minute limit, what I miss how unjust and harmful is the CAP to the Central European, competitive agricultural business within the Union.

According to accession treaties, the new(ish) member states in Central Europe that produce cheaper food with less chemical inputs receive only a fraction of CAP subsidies than the old EU15 members. This way cheap and safer food struggles an uphill battle against oversubsidised Western, mainly French, Dutch, Danish and German products on the Single Market, which seems to tilt westwards.
